Now available for Port Expert, a “minimize tilting” feature creates the most efficient tool path possible through a port. Hybrid flat area processing is now available, enabling the user to choose to include the flat areas of the part in the tool path, ignore the flat areas or only machine the flats. The software’s 3D HST Waterline tool paths now include an option to machine a part from bottom to top. The efficiency of rest roughing linking heights for 3D HST tool paths has been improved. The 3D HST roughing feature has been consolidated from six tool paths to two: Dynamic OptiRough and Area Roughing.
In this version of the CAM software, the Dynamic Motion tool paths 2D HST Dynamic Mill, Peel Mill and 3D Dynamic OptiRough all support a conventional feed rate when set to a zigzag cutting method. Mastercam X9 for SolidWorks is a CAM application that is fully integrated into Dassault Systèmes’ SolidWorks CAD software, enabling the user to program parts directly in SolidWorks using Mastercam’s tool paths and machining strategies.
